having a lovely drive home this afternoon and suddenly bump bump bump and T/C went crazy, i knew what it was straight away a bloody flat...
the sidewall of the tyre blew out it was a mid range tyre from a tyrepower store called indoradial. rang the store as the tyres are only a few months old, the reply was not what i wanted to hear "stiff S*** they are over 2 weeks old" this reply was arrogant and down rite rude, i think a letter to the manager is on the cards.. and the second bummer for the day is my spare, its a 15" my mags are 18" so a 50KPH trip home was on the cards....(the thing i dont understand is this car came from factory with 17" wheels..) |

I'd give Consumer Affairs a call too, to see what the warranty should be on tyres.
Maybe they need to be made aware of this store??

And share with the rest of the club
![]() ---------------------------------------------- I paid $180 each for Roadstones (after quoted over phone $180 for 2, i know that it would be for each coz there 18" but still quoted $90 each) so far they seem alright for dry weather lol not the best for wet (thank goodness for T/C) or i'd be cop bait and a half lol.

i once drove 25km slowly with a flat maz-1 verry strong sidewall (forgot to put the t bar back in my boot) needless to say not much tyre left after.
it turned out that when i got the Teins installed the link rod snapped a week later whilst in sydney. i recall the cracking noise but i didnt think anything of it, it eventually went thru the sidewall of my tyre when i arrived at Raymond Terrace (fulcrum paid for my tyre and sent new link rods the next morning, i drove to work the next day without a link rod, handled a little funny but did no damage) and i guess thats why i stuck with the MAZ-1 except for this one occasion. The Indoradial tyre just shredded itself in about 100m, the bridge is well know for it rough entry and exit, maybe a letter to the council is at hand also.. |

If you got a puncture & you drove on it long enough to chew out the side wall (doesn't take very long on a low profile tyre) the there is no warranty. Tyre warranty is only to cover manafucture defects.
If you chew out your tyres due to a poor wheel alignment & you didn't have one done when you fitted the tyres, no waranty. If you mount a gutter and blow out a side wall, no waranty. If you pick up a nail & it flattens, no waranty. If the tyre delamanates & you are not going faster than the speed rating of said tyre at the time, that's a waranty job. If you are going faster than it is rated, no waranty. One thing to remember when buying tyres is that you get what you paid for. You always need to be realistic with your driving needs before buying tyres & and any tyre fitter worth his ticket will ask you all of these questions before giving you a few choices of tyre. I've used heaps of different tyres over the years & in heaps of different driving conditions & each one had it's good and bad points. Also remember that every different tyre shop will only recommend the tyres they supply, even if they are not what you require & some people will sell you anything just to get a sale (best example that comes to my mind is an R33 that had good all round tyres fitted, when the car is used at the track on weekends........ needed good sports tyres at a minium) Another thing to remember is that your tyres are the ONLY THING KEEPING YOUR CAR OFF THE GROUND!!!! Your brakes are only as good as your tyres, your suspension is only as good as your tyres, so in this light you should always get the best tyres for your style of driving that you can afford. I've seen a Z4 BMW with SAVA's ($75 each) on all 4 corners, just what you want keeping your $100,000+ car on the black stuff LOL

as for the $100 000 Z4 probably spent all the money on the car.. I have SAVAS on the 4x4 been a great tyre, outperform the bfg's and about half the price (would never put them on my car thou) ill stick with the maxxis i think |
