Wouldn't it be cool if they won in the 888 team car and beat the HRT?

I'm probably not going to win any friends here, but I'm going to come out and say-I don't like either of them and I don't care! Skaife is a self-loving twit and Lowndes' light is fading. Neither of them have the persistence of some of the older drivers like Ingall, Murphy or Bargwanna or the raw talent and drive of the younger ones like Holdsworth, Caruso, Davison or dare I say it-Whincup. Tander is the perfectly balanced one-young enough to be driven but experienced enough to be tactical. Perhaps if Skaife stopped whinging about other drivers long enough he might move further up the track!

Pusser everyone is entitled to an opinion.
Me? I find car racing boring at any time. Give me a helmet, some spunky leathers, 2 wheels, with a powerful 1000cc motor and I'm happy.
I love my Commodores, I'm happy when Holden wins a race or a championship, no matter who has driven the car, but I just cannot sit through a race without falling asleep. LOL

Cricket and grass growing ... not much difference when you watch them.

You guys have obviously never watched rounds of the British or German Touring Car Championships. It makes the Supertaxi drivers look like they're asleep. And I still enjoy the Formula 1.

As for cricket, I like it but I just don't have the time to watch a whole test match. It's probably easier to appreciate if you have played it.

When Skaife was with HRT, the whole outfit was very snobby. At events, the other teams would sign autographs, talk to fans and be pretty relaxed and friendly, but HRT would be a closed shop and Skaife would not get involved in too much fan contact except at the designated times. Team Red got pretty unpopular.

Has it changed with Tander and the Toll merger?

id like to say the machine was the difference in this race. these days you cant say that the cars are virtually identical (minus the body shape and badges.)
i mean its ridiculous what happened to the days of the gt and torana even the days of the vs-vr were more exciting then today. i reckon the rumours of Mitsubishi and Toyota should be fulfilled time for a bit more variety id love to see a diesel V8 tearing around bathurst
just my opinion the race isnt about the race anymore its about multi billion $$$ corparations

I agree with you, VZ Calais.

The Supertaxis are running out of circuits in Australia because the circuits just won't pay the ridiculous fee demanded by the V8s to appear there. They don't race at Eastern Creek because the circuit won't pay the fee after it made a loss on the event the last time. No-one in their right mind wants to make a loss for themselves while lining the pockets of someone else.

And now poor old WA has no races this year because the prima donnas say the facilities are not good enough. Bull. I haven't looked into this one yet but I bet it's another case of the fee being too high. With the fee they charge, how can they expect circuits to be of top standard if the events are not profitable?

The statement coming from the V8 organisation are to be taken with a grain of salt. They said Eastern Creek did not have suitable facilities either and it is an international standard track. Also listen to their crowd estimates. They seem to count everybody 3 or 4 times.

And what will happen when Falcons are no longer made here but are imported from the US (or somewhere else)?

I hear more and more people saying the Sydney race last year was poorly organised and executed and they will not be going back.

This Australia-only race category better be careful or it won't have anywhere in Australia to race. All the races will be in Dubai or NZ or Outer Mongolia or somewhere.

There! That's off my chest for now.

Why the hell do they race in Abu Dhabi & Bahrain for??? Who's going to watch it there? Camels? They show it on TV and theres like 2 people in the granstand. Its all about bloody money now. Few years ago they were happy to race at Oran Park & Eastern Creek; now these circuits are not up to the V8 Supercar standard anymore. Tony Cochrane is a F***wit!
If any facilities need to be upgraded it should be Bathurst! Its an absolute nightmare to find a seat there on the grassy hill parallel to the pit straight. And then get up to go to the toilet or get something to eat and then find your way back without tripping on someone! Good luck! They should conrete it the whole way! Concrete steps! And its bullshit you got to pay $245+ for a granstand seat for 4 days when you only want to go 2!
Anyone seen that new Pink commercial for V8 Supercars? Bloody embarassment

Either Tony Cochrane can sell sand to Arabs or there are some mighty gullible and ignorant people in the NSW state government for the government to be conned into shelling out $30 mil for a street race when they have already paid for a purpose built racetrack at Eastern Creek.

Now...uummmmmm.....which one could it be?
