Q : How many women with PMS does it take to change a light bulb?
A: One! ONLY ONE!!!! And do you know WHY?
Because no one else in this house knows HOW to change a light bulb! They don't even know that the bulb is BURNED OUT!! They would sit in the dark for THREE DAYS before they figured it out. And, once they figured it out, they wouldn't be able to find the#&%!* light bulbs despite the fact that they've been in the SAME CABINET for the past 17 YEARS!But if they did, by some miracle of God, actually find them, 2 DAYS LATER, the chair they dragged to stand on to change the STUPID light bulb wouldSTILL BE IN THE SAME SPOT!!!!! AND UNDERNEATH IT WOULD BE THE WRAPPER THE FREAKING LIGHT BULBS CAME IN!!! BECAUSE NO ONE EVER CARRIES OUT THE GARBAGE!!!! IT'S A WONDER WE HAVEN'T ALL SUFFOCATEDFROM THE PILES OF GARBAGE THAT ARE A FOOT DEEP THROUGHOUT THE ENTIRE HOUSE!!IT WOULD TAKE AN ARMY TO CLEAN THIS PLACE! AND DON'T EVEN GET ME STARTED ON WHO CHANGES THE FLAMIN' TOILET ROLL !! . . .
I'm sorry. What was the question?

Yeah, in hindsight its pretty harsh outlook, I guess some of my relationships in the past have changed my approach to how I contribute to my marriage now, which is basically keep the wife happy and not argue because I can't win!!:lmao:

Nuggetboy,
Don't forget that you have a life to lead, too.
My wife and I get on well after 20 years because, as with children, boundaries have to be established and respected. I can get angry at my wife as much as she can get angry at me but at least we know then where the boundary is for future reference. We like to keep each other happy. It's not just one way traffic.
She is happy to let me go and enjoy myself at boy things such as motor racing and I don't mind if she wants to go out with her friends for an occasion.
Our house is not at all like Vixen's post re changing a light bulb.

TigerV8, I respect your opinions... and also you are 100% right Vixen6 its all about partnership.
We are, however from different generations.
These so called boundaries you refer to, have shifted. The respect levels are virtually non-existent. All the things you describe are more difficult to find. In my opinion, these days people are less tolerant of each other.
Don't get me wrong, this does not happen to me now, it was just an example from my past.
I have had to change my ways to become more vulnerable in my life because I realised my marriage wouldn't work if I am always defensive. My wife always happy to let me enjoy the things I like and I equally share the feeling when she needs to do what she likes. Tell you what; I am glad I married her!!
This thread started off as a "joke", and I apologise for escalating it to an level which was not called for!!

Marriage is partnership .... not ownership!!! ;)
To a lot of men and women this is unfortunately not the case, hence why our divorce rates are the highest they have ever been in this country.
I would like to believe that marriage is a partnership however I have seen very few so called 'partnerships' which is quite sad. Life is way too short !

This is why, to this day, I am unmarried, having been in 'ownership' relationships too many times in my lifetime.
I prefer to discuss matters to a mutual agreement, rather than get told what I must do and end up in an arguement.
In Michael Jackson's, high pitched, immortal words ..."I'm a lover, not a fighter" :lmao:

Vixen, you are a gem.
Why hasn't some NICE man snaffled you up? Am I that old that the men of today don't appreciate a fair-minded woman? Or are the young women of today just useless? I know a few young women who are totally useless - can't cook, don't know what clean is, don't know how to behave , can't survive independently. As much use as an ash tray on a motorbike.
Who wants a person like that who has to be mothered?

Getting back to this thread.
Do you know why they called it PMS?
Because the name "Mad Cow Disease" was already taken.

At least PMS only hits once a month.
Wait until they hit menopause. Then it's constant confusion.
And they dare to criticise us men. Well I guess that act alone shows they're a bit unbalanced.

Well I'm not sure what bracket I'm in.... I don't have or get PMS, as I had a hysterectomy 6 years ago, I'm too young for menopause, I'm financially independent for everything, I don't use credit cards, I love hardware shops, sheds and work benches, auto shops and V8's ( Holdens that is! ) I enjoy working on cars and seeing the end result, and the sound of a loud V8 just makes me shiver. As much as I love all of the above, I also love being a women and being pampered to the max..........Mark does a great job most of the time lol, thats when we are both in the same house......

Nuggetboy,
If you have a family and bring up children you will NEVER be bored, as you probably know.
In fact, I reached a stage where boring was good. At least there were no dramas of illnesses, broken bones, fights, moods, teenage syndrome and so forth.
A peaceful time was excitement in itself because it was so unusual.
If you like to be kept on your toes, then hang on for the ride because you will be!

You think you got problems?
My wife wants us to get a Mercedes sports convertible and do the Great Ocean Road trip and stuff.
I said she can have one .........if she pays for it.

That sounds good. The Commodore doesn't handle as well as I would like. It gets twitchy at times under pressure. It needs redesigned suspension. Then I could just tip it into corners and have it sit on the line with confidence and with the option of a little power oversteer instead of feeling it shuffling about undecidedly.
The price of the convertible should get a LOT of mods -- like a few more whole cars!
