couldn't the mechanic quickly clamp the hoses so you wont lose alot of fuel?

VS has internal fuel pump in the tank it self
so you have to undo the bolts that hold it which exposes a fairly large hole in the fuel tank which then all the fuel runs out
fairly hard to stop 50 odd litres from comin out
