Scary thing is these are true!
Mid '60's a JAL flight was approaching the runway on finals into Hawaii in the days before electronic landing aids.He radioed the tower and said:"Hawaii ground this is JAL XXX. It's been a while since I was last here, can you give me some landmarks please." The Air Traffic Controller asked how long since some things had recently changed. The pilot just said "a while." The ATC asked again for specifics and after a long pause the pilot said "December 7 1941!"
A Lufthansa pilot on finals into Berlin lost his patience when told to go around for another approach. Furiously he said over the radio: " I am a German pilot flying for a German airline into Germany's capital.Why do I have to ask permission in English and then have to wait?"
An unidentified, cultured British voice replied: "Because we won!"
