Okay, Louise and I were chatting (how strange is that?) and we thought, since this kind of thread seems to work well on other forums, we'd introduce it on here. It's an interesting/fun way to get to know a tad more about your fellow forum members.
Basically tell us who you are and what you might do for a crust ...... that is, if you want to of course :D

So here goes .....
My name is Karen (or Thelma, as some prefer ;)) and I work at a local Hospital here in sleepy ol' Adelaide as an Administrative Officer between the Maintenance and Supply areas.
I try to keep about 8 'boys' in line (:help:) and manage the Govt Fleet vehicles too.
I own a fluffy kitty cat, called Ally, with major attitude and a canary, called Basil, that I hand reared from 3 days old.
Love my Commodores and adore my motorbikes.
Oh ... and there's nothing better than a good belly laugh!!! :D

My name is Michael.
I am married and have 2 sons, 25 and 18, a dog, a Vectra and a Rodeo ute. I am the tax manager for a firm of chartered accountants in the CBD.
I enjoy many things, so I can be easy to please.
This is my first Commodore and my first Holden. I had heard bad things about some SS's but bought one anyway. I think I got a good one.
Like the others, I can be persuaded to partake of an ale or three without much difficulty.
Hope to get time to go on some cruises with you lot.

Ok, here we go...

My name is Daniel, I am 29 years old and I own a VL sedan which was an SL exec which I am currently restoring into an old skool ride...

I work for Toyota Industrial Equipment Australia as a parts interpreter. My work background was originally in automotive where I worked for Campbelltown Nissan and moved onto Purnell Bros in Liverpool/Greenacre.

I have been married to my beautiful wife Jodie for the past 2 and a half years and hope to start a family soon, I also have 5 goldfish and love my NRL footy, got the doggies, oh and by the way just to state the obvious upfront AFL can go and get stuffed!!

My other interests are in computers and motorcycles (of which I have a track day on this Saturday 29th March at Eastern Creek all day!!) Definitley looking forward to that one!!

I ride a 1998 model Honda CBR 900RR (black and silver), she's my current pride and joy...

But the old VL's are my passion which I hope to have on the road as soon as possible...especially so I can be involved in some club days...!!!

I didn't get a chance to take some pics over the weekend (family commitments, you know!!)

But, at this point it looks like it won't be on the road until July, August...

And, I also still have the brake rotors to replace to finalise its road worthiness...

I will get my camera out tomorrow arvo and get some photos up...(Having dinner out tonight)... I might start it under a new thread though showing more of the initial project...

I also have photos of the VS door pod conversion to post up later in the mods area if anyone needs reference material...

i just had a chat to Aaron and I will organise with the missus to see if we can attend the Maitland gaol run... It will be in our other car though...

It can be a litle rough at times, depending on the age of the varnish.
Painted ones sre crook.
But at least they leave a woody finish on the palate with occasional splinters on the front of the tongue and a rather cheeky woodrot bouquet.

My name is Ian. Im 34. No wife or kids (WOOOOOHOOOOO!!!!) rofl.
Im a wardsman (fairly large job description and yes I see some awesomely gorey stuff) at the canberra hospital. Because of this job ive done CPR more times than I can remember over the past 5 years but on the flip side ive pushed even more beds around than I care to remember.. ha ha. Im also a part time body piercer and full time wierdo.
Love tatoos and body piercing and have a heap of both. Im a V8 purist from birth ( aside from the many bazerk sleeper Ford Escorts Ive had). Heavy metal is my music and yes I mean the really heavy GGRRR GGRRRR stuff. But despite all this I am a relaxed kinda dude and seem more like a clean hippy. lol. Every thing is a joke to me and I seem to stumble on the funny side of everything but,,,,,,, I stress over stupid things on the odd occasion and can be found on the soap box ranting passionately about just about anything from saving the rainforests and whales to opening legal drag racing venues and encouraging the use of fossil fuels. . Yep, Im a living contradiction. But its fun. lol.
I have a colorful past but butter wouldnt melt in my mouth. My mum will attest to this. (she'll tell you Im handsome too).
Last but not least,,, I try not to do this sort of thing drunk too much as I end up writing war and peace. Sorry ha ha

My! What a conundrum you are Ian!! :lmao:

I admire you for your work. I got to know a wardsman very well over a couple of weeks back in January and the work you guys do and the support you offer to patients and visitors is nothing short of amazing.
Thankyou.

Thanx mate. I really appreciate that:)
Its a funny job like that. The staff, patients and families you work with or the people that hear your "all day" work story understand and appreciate what we do. Most people just see us pushing beds or looking like security guards or heavies with psych patients.. ha ha ha. In one hour I will have wrestled with a psych pt in the middle of triage, helped and old lady change her diaper, played with or read to a 9 yr old boy to keep his mind off his up coming operation and wheeled 3 people from the ED to their ward. And then come the motor bike VS tree accidents!! ha ha I love my job.

Just thought I'd bump this thread, since we have a lot of new members now.
Go on! Go for it!! :D

Well, I'm one of the new members so I'll say a bit about "who I am and what do I do'...I'm happily married (well, most of the time!) with 2 boys aged 19 and 12. I have a cockatiel and 2 budgies, an old staffy cross cattle dog and a 1 year old blue and white whippet (whose name is Zippet!). I'm currently on my 5th Holden - started with an LH Torana - 6cyl, with a traumatic automatic gearbox, then LX Torana with a 253, Toyota 5 speed gearbox, then a VH Commodore, then the VT Executive and now the black, beastie VE SS. Most of my friends wonder why I have this desire for my car and think that I am a bit odd - but I don't really mind - I'm happy!

I'm sure that after reading some of the comments that I may also be at odds with some other forum posters as I do follow AFL - looove the game and the Syndey Swans! My son is at Hunter Sports High in the Targeted AFL Program and my other half (who drives a white VZ ute) plays for the Central Coast Masters AFL team. I do also follow league and as I grew up on Syndey's Northern Beaches support the mighty Sea Eagles.

I have been working at the University of Newcastle since 2003 in a variety of Student Support Roles at both the Callaghan and Ourimbah Campuses and pretty much love most of the work that I do. I try not to partake of any alcoholic beverages too often as I find it VERY hard to stop at one!!! The bevvie of choice would be the lovely Bundy Bear or an ice-cold ale. Very much looking forward to meeting some CC Members and taking part in a cruise or two!

Cheers, Michelle

G'day Michelle.
3 .. no 4 things going for you in my mind

2. Hubby has a VZ ute ... and a white one at that!
3. You follow the AFL ( I didn't think anyone knew what that was in Sydney ;))
And
4. You say you're a bit 'odd'
Well that's perfectly okay. You'll fit right in on here. :D

We love and welcome individuality!!

Yes, I'm a bit partial to cruising around in his ute, quite love a Holden ute :)

Hubby has played AFL since before we met and so he kinda converted me from league. Same way that I never had any interest in cars (I owned and showed horses until about 7 years ago) until he kinda converted me to that as well. Do you follow AFL? Power or the Crows (just guessin!?!).

I will definitely be trying to get to Doylo on Sunday as I really would like to meet some of you :)

League, etc, isn't really all that big over here in SA, so it just natural that we follow the AFL as well as our local SANFL.
And the Crows over Port ANYDAY!!!!
Myself, I'm actually more a follower of the Moto GP. :D

I really look forward to meeting up with you one day soon, when I'm in town.
