Hi all.
Well I need help!
I've paid a considerable amount of money to a particular race shop and now 2 years later, nothing has happened and I'm missing parts!
I need help with how to now:
A: get my money back
B: Get my parts back &
C: Make sure no body else has this happen to them!
PLease help!!!!!

Castle Hill unlicensed car repairer convicted

NSW Fair Trading Minister, Linda Burney, today said that a Castle Hill man has been convicted of multiple offences in relation to the operation of an unlicensed motor vehicle business.
Earlier this month, Parramatta Local Court convicted Derek Hocking trading as Hocking Racing Services of operating as a vehicle repairer without a licence, employing an uncertified tradesperson, and failing to produce records when requested. He was ordered to pay $2,918 in fines and costs.
Ms Burney said that Mr Hocking came to the attention of the Motor Vehicle Repair Industry Authority as the result of a general complaint.
“Upon investigation it was discovered that he was not licensed to operate in the industry,” Ms Burney said.
“The law requires motor vehicle repairers to be licensed and their tradespeople to be certificated so that consumers can be confident they have the qualifications, skills and experience to undertake the work.
“Unlicensed, uncertificated repairers meet no minimum standards and pose a financial and safety risk to the consumers whose cars they repair.
“Fair Trading and the Motor Vehicle Repair Industry Authority will continue to weed out and prosecute unlicensed repairers to allow consumers full confidence in the industry.”

MVRIC is now known as the MVRIA and Bill (the case officer) has been working the case forever and a day and is still considered the largest case they have dealt with in the history of the MVRIA with "numerous complaints weekly". Unfortunately the MVRIA only have the power to issue fines, since Derek is Bankrupt how do they chase him for unpaid fines ??? He has moved 3 times in the last year to slow down the MVRIA as they have to go through all the red tape for each address too, the system sux.
Derek is still unlicensed and to add insult to injury he has never even been an apprentice mechanic ! He is a tinkerer and very capable of regurgitating other peoples credible ideas on engine, suspension setups etc. which is what unfortunatley sucked me in, he just doesn't know how to "do it".

And the Detective dealing with a couple of Dereks cases, if anyone needs 'em. All of which are still conducting active investigations into SHocking Racing Shop

i have a mate that worked there and he was told by a number of people and suppliers to leave and get out now!! so he wouldnt get court up in all of is dealings and bullsh*t , he lives at his shop people and i think everybody should go down to castle hill police station all at once and make a statement, thats the only way to shut this person down , he tryed to rip my mate of by leasing him his vz race car that he does own, but never let my mate near it or anything it was just a way to get money out of him , lucky my mate is smart and got out , PEOPLE WE ALL SHOULD STAND TOGETHER AND STOP THIS PERSON NOW BEFORE HE DOES WRONG TO OTHERS.....
and he aint no supercar driver ive seen him drive and he aint any good and his car is a heap of crap and ive heard it has a customers engine and gear box in it to... DOES THE CUSTOMER KNOW THIS I BET NOT !!!!!!!!!
heres basically only one option for you then:
- Pick a Tuesday or Wednesday (slow news day)
- Call every TV station and radio station at 6am and tell them there will be a protest march with 100+ people at Castle Hill at 11am. Explain it involves a bankcrupt fraudster, 2 yr police investigation etc etc
- Get as many people as you can, even if its only 30 or so to hold up signs and park cars blocking the street.
- When the news vans turn up at 11am, call the cops and tell them there is a riot going on (more cops and makes it look more dramatic for the camers with 10 cars showing up)
- Keep it peaceful and move on when asked.

My dad did the whole Monaro into my racecar conversion and it was he that took it there for some simple wiring. Once it was there I thought what the **** its only some wiring, yeh right. It was there a month till I found out when I got back to sydney and sent the towie straight there to pick it up. It was AG that told me it had been there that long.

Then you jump blindly to another shop with bugger all research except they would do shit for free or cheap as sponsorship. Out of the fry pan into the fire it could have been with your 100k GTS. As far as Sam goes I dont get any special favours and he doesnt sponsor me either. Royal Purple do, Coca Cola do , Smiths chips do. I pay Sam just like everyone else. Many people that got done by him will be done again sooner or later by guru engine builders, other workshops and the like, that still dont know shit. I know of places that have had engines built by other workshops then claim the work as their own to get customers in.
For example I was at Sams to check on some stuff for one of my cars. A guy called in who is building an LSX engine for a customer. He asked which way the writting on the rod went??? (which means nothing) Sam told him to look at the chamfer and he had no idea what Sam was talking about and then Sam pointed out that 2 of the pistons were on back to front and to make sure that no 8 piston went in number 8 hole. The guy was gobsmacked. Sam commented after he left that somebody is paying for this guy to learn and it will end in disaster. This is the problem with the internet. Everyones an expert.

hi guys,new to this forum but i am also a victim of this pr**k,sent my hard earned money down to buy parts for a race car i have, $8000.00 in total 2 yrs ago,as u can imagine still waiting,know of 2 other guys who have been stung for a lot more than me.spent the last 18 months trying to get money back through the legal system,all judgements in my favour,alot of good that did me ,got a total of $110.00,legal system sucks but alas good news got a phone call from a lady from itsa fraud squad in melbourne who is setting up a case for the dpp and the good odds are where he is going he`ll be to frightened to pick up soap.i will be a the bbq for sure but make sure it is not on the weekend of the 1 AND 2 OF MARCH AS HE WILL PROBABLY BE ATHE AMRC RACE MEETING

Hocking Racing Shop (I say it so when ppl http://www.ls1.com.au/forum/images.ls1/smilies/google.gif it comes up!http://www.ls1.com.au/forum/images.ls1/smilies/sm_puke.gif would have to "Prove" an income to prove a potential loss....and as anyone knows who has dealt with him, he has never lodged a BAS cause he can't claim earnings from the work he's doing.....
That and I will happily take on ANY legal action Derek Hocking (again) can come up with. And if required, yes i will meet the owners' of this forum to discuss....
