Hello does anyone know if the VE's radio has a direct iPod input?

Doesnt have full ipod fuction.

U use a speaker input cable and plug it in to the system. You have to use the ipod its self to change song and it doesnt change it either so u need a ciggererte light charger. Kinda of a shame really only cost like $50 for a full fuction one. Cheap skates at holden.

Benny.

So, you can directly plug an iPod to a factory VE radio?

There is a small hole in the front on the right hand side and then find a station that it works on

so it still transmits through an fm radio station?
I'm after something that directly transmits through the actual radio/cd player

If you plug it in to the AUX Input hole on the front of the stereo (on the SS atleast) it should automatically change to the AUX station, but you still need to control the Ipod from the actual Ipod.

If you buy one of those things you plug into the cigarette lighter then you need to find the right station for it.

If you plug it in through USB, it should power the iPod aswell , is there a USB there?

Mine just has the little spot to plug the ipod in. K-Mart and Big W even have cheap jack to jack cord. Mine is a little retractable one, from Belkin that cost about $15. You control everything through the ipod, but it just plays through the stereo. The display says "front aux".
That's the only reason I bought an ipod. :)

Do you know if you can connect the audio buttons on the steering wheel of a VXII commodore to a new cd player like clarion, sony, kenwood, alpine, etc.?

think you need a adaptor or a head deck that has the option for steering wheel remote

yes i have an aftermarket pioneer stereo and wheel controls. The product is called a cat 10 it works like a normal remote, a LED sender gets positioned somewhere hidden away (i have mine near the auto shifter) when you hit the wheel buttons the cat sends the same signal as your remote control.....
gah that is confusing once read back, but i will try and find a link to explain it
