I was just reading their website. It said the meeting point is at 9am at carpark P5C, and it's first in, first served. They have 1,000 showbags with t-shirts, stickers, etc. After the first 1,000 you only get a sticker and directions.

If last year's was anything to go by, people begin rolling up at 7.30am.
Here in SA we, on the C4C4 committee, met up at the racecorse at 7am to begin setting up and a half hour later our first 2 cruisers pulled in. By 8am there was a steady stream of cruisers pulling in.
The departure time wasn't until 11 am.
Just be warned you may miss out on a TShirt if you are really wanting one.

As of today's weather reports online, the forecast is for mainly fine with late showers on Saturday.
Fingers crossed for a dry day! :D

Maybe we should meet earlier? What does everyone think?

But maybe not 7 am.

cheeky_munky
24-07-2008, 10:48 AM
I agree with Tiger, maybe we should meet earlier (definitely not 7am.... ) as it's going to be a very big turnout. This would not only give us the "showbag advantage" but more time to mingle.

BlackOne
24-07-2008, 11:13 AM
We're all meeting at Carter Street at 8:00am which is 2 minutes from the official meeting point for this event.

On the street commodores website they have a list of people attending the cruise in Sydney. There's not even 1000 yet so you might not miss out. If I have to speed a little to get my show bag, god dam it I will!!!

Not everyone registers on the Street Commodores website Shaun. Last year they only received about 600 registrations but had 800+ commodores turn up.

*** UPDATE **

Time to be at meeting point (Carter Street Homebush) is now 7:30am !!!

Don't be late people as we plan to leave Carter Street NO LATER THAN 7:40am to ensure we all get adequate parking inside the official Street Commodore meeting point Homebish carpark.

Far out Matt. I'm already getting up at 4.20a.m. I seriously don't think I'll make it there by 7.30. I'm stopping at the epic servo to meet with the other Canberrans cruising up, they leave at 5.30a.m. If I just head straight up I'll make it but then I cant hand out cards and tell people about the club.

How awesome was that? So many Commodores in one place! Lots of noise, lots of eye candy. Not all of the cars were my cup of tea, but that's life. It was a blast! Is it usually well advertised? I'd never heard of it before.
Oh, and Karen? BUUUUUURRRRRRRPPPPPPP. :lmao:

What a spectacular day.

It was great to meet some members I hadn't met before, especially Karen from SA.
You're as funny in real life as you are on the forum. Now you can tell the others what they missed. There must have been more than 1,000 Commodores in that cruise. There certainly seemed to be more on the road than ended up at the destination.

And talk about variety! Quite a few with airbag suspension. They all seem to enjoy their Commodores. Thanks for organising our participation Andy and Matt and whoever else was involved.
