I've tried so many ticks, i still cant do a burnout, I dont know if it is just me or if its the car lack in power down low.

My VT has a 2 1'2 exhaust, extractors and 70mm throttle body, no engine work.

But i hear about so many people doing burnouts in their stock cars why cant I is it me?

Depends on alot of things mate. My VX didnt have an LSD therefore could only spin 1 wheel also didnt have traction control.

If all else fails put it in the 1st towing gear and let it rip. Manual Just drop the clutch after u rev it abit.

Your car is trying to tell you something. :) You might have really good tyres, or your clutch might be slipping. Gee, that sounds familiar!

Someone tried to do a burnout in my car, but the clutch was slipping too much. My stealership donated a new clutch to me. :)

Dani.......... Your car WILL smoke the bags, that attempt is not a justified attempt as Pete proved not 2 minutes later LOL

ANY car will smoke & under a controlled, LEGAL enviroment I will be more than happy to prove this to anyone :) in your own cars obviously, we all know that my cars smoke ha ha ha ha ha

yes i agree with the above post
my car is another car which simply wont bag up with 18" or above wheels on it the 15"wheels no probs at all
low down torque is a majour issue in the alloytechs and if you hit the brakes the car wont rev (anti abuse system built in)
never the less nothing a C.A.P.A supercharger wont fix (bring on my lottery win)

try 20's or 22's go on ya know ya wanna (cost way to much to blow out)

Blown355

Costs heaps more to smoke my 18's than it would to smoke 20's.... you can get half ok 20's for $150 each, same quality 18's are over $200, but for the ones that used to be on the back they were closer to $500 a pop LOL 22 inch wheels won't fit under my guards at the moment, but I can mini tub it & give it a go if someone wants to donate some tread LOL

I've got a set of 235/45r17 run flats getting tested next, so I'll be keen to see how they go with the extra side wall strenghth......

VZCalais

ive had runflats before they are great
dunno how you will go about smoking them up thou (well not for the price i payed for mine anyway) you might need that new radiator after all and a huge supercharger(you know you want one, i know i do)

I can't run a blower and stay in my current catagory that I race in, but I know the r/f's will blaze :) they are second hand ones with about 50% tread left (I don't pay for my tyres very often LOL) I am gonna put a haltech in it & re tune the hell out of it to give me some more poke

My first SS used to light up brand new Bridgstone SO-3's 235/40r18's in second with little effort & my last one smoked everything thanks to 3.9 diff gears :)

VZCalais
01-03-2010, 09:36 PM
haha 3.9's good highway economy i guess??
haltech aye is there much of a difference in price with haltech and WOLF, i got quoted 3000 for the WOLF V500 and a full day on the dyno

Blown355
01-03-2010, 10:07 PM
I can get a haltech that completly replaces my current delco unit and plugs into my harness for about $1200 & they come loaded with a couple of different programs ready to run most commodore pre-VT set up's so you can drive it right from the get go. The tuning won't be too bad as it's a straight forward set up & there's a guy here who is the king of tuning holden 5.0L's with haltech's.

Highway cruising has never really been high on my list of prioritys LOL but it didn't really suffer that much, even after running to sydney 5 out of 6 weekends at the start of last year. I was still getting around 450km's to a tank around town & that's with me enjoying the 3.9's, I only get around 500 now with 3.08 gears and I still enjoy it LOL

At the end of the day, almost everything I do to my cars is performance driven & I pay for it at the pump (when you tack on 14c per liter extra for 98 fuel is get a bit worse) but I know this and I don't complain because it's what I do. This weekend I did close to 1000km's & used over 2 tanks of premo fuel (at close to $100 a tank), same for the the cruise in january & I use close to a tank ever week driving to work, ect. It could be worse tho, one of my mates has switched his Brock to methonol & consumes 60L in less than 1 cruise session at powercruise & they only last for 20 minutes LOL

WOOOOOOOOOO, It can do a burnout now!! all i did is Bought a K&N Filter, still couldn't do a burnout so i took the factory cold air intake out which i think restricts the air down low and now it can do a burnout... yay now my car doesn't look slow anymore :P
