Welcome to
Carline Mufflers Powercruise Sydney
To be run at
Eastern Creek Raceway
25th 26th 27th and 28th Feb 2010

Hey everyone, I know the Tuggerth show is on the sunday, but there is still 2 days and nights of pure horsepower action to enjoy on Friday & Saturday (Thursday is only a set up day & no vehicles allowed on the track, last year the was a track day running with some cool open wheelers)

I will be attending this one as I have a lot demons to run outta town from last year & I don't think I will be able to leave it until next year LOL :)

Is anyone else keen on attending/entering?? Apart from last years miss hap, this is a really cool event & a great one to enter.

As an enterant you can cruise the track for 20 mins at a time, with upto 100 other like minded rev heads & that alone is worth the cost of entering, plus you can compete in a number of driving events if you feel game. All you need to compete is a current ADR approved helmet, long pants & sleeves, along with inclosed shoes. All you need to cruise is a car load of keen mates & seat belts LOL

Entrant prices are as follows:
Pre Paid before Fri 12th Feb 2010 $180 (Includes 1 driver pass & 1 vehicle pass)
On the day of the event $240 (Includes 1 driver pass & 1 vehicle pass)

Camping is available for a fee of $50 on top of you enterant fee & heaps of space is available right next to the track, most of the way around.

Spectator prices are as follows:
Friday $30
Saturday $35
Sunday $30
3 Day Season Pass $80
3 Day Season Pass + Camping $130
Kids 12 and Under (Entry & Camping) FREE

For more information please visit www.powercruise.com

Feel free to post if your keen to come along, it would be cool to get a bunch of CCa cars out there for a cruise around Eastern Creek (and maybe a little bit of a race if your game LOL)

Catch ya on the track

Blown355

Day one is done and dusted, what a day it has been too!!! Lots of smashes & some serious weapons out on the track having an awesome time.....

frank2112
27-02-2010, 03:32 PM
AS long as none of the smashes involve you this year. Expecting lots of photos and video footage

Blown355
27-02-2010, 11:17 PM
Day 2's all over & there were even more smashes than yeasterday!!! Alot of morons out on the track during cruising and they are paying for it.........

Happy to report that all CCA entrants are still running strong and true(ish). Unfortuantly I'm unhappy to report that as of yet no tyres have been blown :( but there is one set that came really close LOL Another year of massive, undestroyed piles of tyres will be heading back to the act...... But it's still running!!!!

Pusser
28-02-2010, 09:35 AM
Good to see everything stayed intact this year mate! Too bad about the tyres, but there'll be more chances to make them pay!!

VZCalais
01-03-2010, 07:02 AM
good to hear you stayed intact. these morons you speak of are the reason i would never enter an event like this all it takes for one of them to hit ya and your screwed i know my insurance company wouldnt cover it

Blown355
01-03-2010, 05:48 PM
Yeah, there's no insurance while your on the track anyway..... But in the event that there is car to car contact while at powercruise, the cars are held until the the party responsable comes up with a way to pay for the damage..... As far as I know all the smashes were single vehicle this time around, and I think there's only been maybe 5 multi vehicle incidents in 23 events.

Another good thing is that all the one's who smashed during cruising will not be able to attend any further powercruise events, I found this out a week before the event when I recived a letter telling me that my smash last year was during cruising (not during a drift practice session like I thought it was LOL) and I was not welcomed back. Of course I was able to get it sorted & had myself an awesome weekend, even tho I didn't blow any tyres and only really spent maybe 1.5 hours on the track, the car ran well & I kept it off the walls LOL :)

Blown355
01-03-2010, 06:11 PM
Well it was a good weekend for all cca members, Woody, untamed ss, gm mad & myself as far as I know had a good weekend, a couple of close calls for some, but an awesome weekend neither the less :)

Friday nights burnout practice went really well & almost resulted in a pair of blown tyres, but I pulled the reigns in as I had to get back to the tent with the tyres I had on LOL they wait until right before you get on the pad that if you blow them your not allowed to leave the grassed cool down area until you have new rubber under the bum LOL I can safely say there was not alot left when I rolled off the pad (and almost went the wrong way I might add, couldn't see anything thru the smoke LOL)

Saturday nights comp didn't quite go as well, I'd decided to run a brand new set of Diamond back TR928's & it turns out that they may have been a bit to much rubber for my car to handle with it's current power levels & I hit 250deg F after only about 3 1/2 minutes, so I decided to shut it down & save it for another day :) But boy did they smoke well!!! Next on the list is a new radiator & thermos as my rad is well past it's used by date & I can leave the thermos running after I shut it down to bring the temp down in a more controled manner. Later on I'll look at an electric water pump as well. The best news is that I didn't have a single clutch drama all weekend, so it looks like I might have finally got it sorted out LOL

Other than that we got's some good cruising in & I got to get some "drifting" in, not as well as I have been in the past, but the nerves were trying to get the best of me & I wasn't keen to push it that hard. Did get a couple of really good spins in & laughed my ass off for awhile afterwards LOL Just wait until you see the videos!!!

Speaking of which, I'll start working on them soon & get them up so you can all laugh along with us as we make fools of ourselves

hey Blown, i not long bought twin thermos for $230 off carsRus off ebay...they are similar to mondeo ones which fit better than au ones just need a bit of trimming around the pipes...i used a small hacksaw to rough cut and then trimmed it up with a pocket knife nice and neat and they fit snug...you get what you pay for they are cheaper than expensives but they still have a bit of quality about them and they work fine...hurry up with the vids lol i just gotta see...

VZCalais
01-03-2010, 07:23 PM
interesting about the insurance side of things do the event organisers organise that or is it something you have to purchase
id like to see how long it took someone to get the $25 000 to replace my car lol if they hit me id be aiming for a wall lol, i dont want no pannel beating done id want a new car
but it is a good thing about the no return policy with crashes
glad you had fun cant wait to see vids

Blown355
01-03-2010, 07:33 PM
yeah no insurance what so ever, last year I lost around $12,000 when I speared off into the wall next to turn 9..... kind of sucked really LOL

good tip on the thermos mate, I'm getting my next rad made for me by a mate & I should be able to stick the VT 5 liter set up straight onto it as the radiators are the same size & the only difference is that the VT one has thermo mounts :) we'll see what happens, but it's gonna have to happen soon as I opened a small hole on the inlet side over the weekend LOL

commydoor
01-03-2010, 07:56 PM
ouch...what radiator cap pressure and thermastat temp are you running Blown?

Blown355
01-03-2010, 08:22 PM
Just factory at the moment.... I noticed the temp issue during the nats, but it was also bloody hot over those couple of days & I spent alot of time moving very slowly in amongst a lot of car. Unfortuantly I didn't really get a lot of time to check into much further due to having heaps of things to organise between then and now...

When I stick in the new rad I'll be running a 120kpa minesafe cap & a a thermostat around the 85oC mark

commydoor
01-03-2010, 08:26 PM
i havnt heard of a minesafe cap before...whats the difference between that and a standard one and where do you get them?

Blown355
01-03-2010, 08:46 PM
The minesafe one's are the one's with the red lever on the top & CPC make one as well, i'd just rather go with the guys that have been making them for over a decade LOL the lever allows you to safely release pressure in the cooling system & were originally developed for mine equipment, you can find them at:

http://www.minesafe.net.au/
