View Full Version : Help COOLVS wont start

need help i cant start my car
i been having problems wit the ignition
sometimes when i turn the key nothin happens
a couple of turns later it clicks
then a couple after that it starts and everything is good
but this morning same thing happened but now the car will only turn over and thats it
i have checked the error codes but nothing has come up except 12 which is normal
the only thing i have noticed this time is the fuel pump not switching on
so is the pump stuffed or is there somethin else wrong which is linked with the pump
i changed sensors around the engine including cas but still wont go
car has spark etc etc
checked my relays and fuses everything good there
i pressured cleaned the engine last weekend but cant see that being a problen considering i have been driving it till today
any ideas

if u not hearing the fuel pump it sounds like it has died to me

As Andy said, check the fuel pump. Another thing to check is the fuel pressure regulator.

have a look at the crank angle sensor/had the same problem fuel pump pressure but no start hope this helps

same thing happened to me mate. Started but fora few seconds only. Blown355 came over and checked things out, have power to fuse, injector pulse and power to pump. Bt the pump itself is no longer priming so its dead. :/

I'm in the same situation as you lol

Hmmm...I had a similar problem only to find it was my key...the key was not connecting to the circuit inside...make sure the screws are tight...mine has no starting problems now...to think such a simple thing can make all the difference in an electronic ignition...hope that helps...xo

as vt vixen says... try a new key head and recode.. or go 2 wreckers n get another key, just gotta change the bcm (body control module) under the dash with the one(car from you got the key) and change the keyheads over!!!!

thanx for da help its running again now
we found the fuel pump was stuffed so we replaced it it was fine few days later samething few pump was dead so this time had a real good look at everything and found out one of the fuel pump wires were shorting out so we replaced all wiring and runs like a dream now
still have the key issue but lookin it to that think it needs the actual contacts change
i changed key head but still have trouble startin it
