ok guys so i got bored today and decided to paint my chev badge red, i got the same colour coded paint as my car (redhot) and some clear coat..

i did 5 coats of colour and 5 coats of clear.. all went well, but i guess it didnt dry all that well haha as i got really eager to see it fully done.. and when i was peeling the masking tape off it ripped a few slices out of the paint..

Now i didnt realise i had to SAND back the original colour.. lol.. so im guessing thats why the paint didnt stick properly.. (yes im dumb..)

can someone please tell me what kind of sandpaper to get? some google trolling has come up with numerous answers. some say 600 grit, while others say 800, 1200..? i dont want to scratch it up really bad.. so thought id ask here if anyone has any prior knowledge.

Just some wet and dry should do very light grade though. dont forget to dip the paper in the water a few times before you rub and continue to do so, until the badge is smooth then prime then paint it red. Good Luck..........
