Marques in the Park is the Council of ACT Motor Clubs spring time motoring event hosted by the Canberra Region Morris Minor Club and supported by Shannons Insurance and SOS Recruitment. Each November, hundreds of vehicle enthusiasts join a post-breakfast cruise to John Knight Memorial Park to enjoy at day in the shade on the shores of Lake Ginninderra in Belconnen.

All vehicle enthusiasts and vehicle types are invited to participate in this FREE event well supported local motoring clubs. In 2007, over 700 vehicles were on display from Veteran and Vintage motorcars to the latest holden ve commodre or hvs , Ford FPV GT's™s and Suzuki Swifts.


Event Details:


9.00 am - Cruise, to John Knight Park, Belconnen
10.00 – 3.00 Kick back and relax



Remember this event is for everybody, clubs and individuals from: Young to Old, People and Cars, Bog stock to Hot Rod, Primer to Polished, Street Cars to Street Machines, Rusty to Restored, Hacks to Show Cars, Hot 4's to Big Block V8's, and maybe V10's or V12's, Race cars, Drag cars, Rally cars, Speedway cars.

Trade Stalls and food will be at the park. We are still after event sponsors so if you have a business, or if you have any questions, please contact the Event Director.

I would, but geez, I hate working just one job. Plus with working 11 days a fortnight, some 10 hour shifts, an hour to get to work...... there's no time!

Me too. Shift work and working 7 days straight doesnt leave much time for a mooinlighter. Thats why I try to pierce on my days off but Ive almost pierced everyone in Canberra. Well almost. lolz. Maybe I should set up a piercing booth at the next car show? Hmm insurance would kill any profits. I could do small implants in a pattern to spell Holden?? ANY TAKERS?? Or I could implant a holden badge? ha ha. I just realized that its totally possible for me to place dermal anchors under the skin that one could clip a car badge to. Although id reckon out of all the holden drivers in Aus id be lucky to find 2 keen on this. ha ha. I wouldnt do it.

Yeah so far Niki, Pete, Chris, John & myself will be watching rally cars blast past us at break neck speeds in the dark on saturday night, so a night time clean is on the cards I think, still 2 spots left I think if anyone else is keen.

was wondering if anyone can tell me is there anything for kids under 7 to do in the immediate area ie play gym, bike track etc want to head down there but have to consider the tin lids

But my young fella will more than likely be there, even more so if I know other kids will be attending & niki/jamie might even bring their respective kids out too if we ask them nicely........

It's right next to the lake, skate park and shopping centre and because It's a community festival there are rides and things too. Not sure on a playground but I'll sus it out for you.

If i remember there is a playground there with bike paths around the lake.
Just have to watch the kids around the water.
The cars last year where about 200 m from the water.
