Hey I've been reading up on different forums about ways of removing these eye sores (for those with executuives you can relate with those big ugly black strips running along the center of the door panels). I was thinking hot water and fishing-line to start off with and then a buffer to finnish off. I used the hot water trick to shave all the badges except for the Holden badge and that all came up a treat.

Has anyone actually tried this backyardie style?
Put pics up if you have cause I'm pretty interested in getting rid of them and would like to see before and afters.

Hairdryier works really well, just keep even heat while your removing them and they should come off pretty easy.

yeh use hair dryer for good ten mins first, then use a half size-thick bladed scrapper n wiggle under side of belt mould (put a few layers o maskingtape above/below n on side ur lifting from=stops ya fken ya paint up) n keep wiggling it along once u get to half-3/4 of way use ur hands to lift off rest but try not bend the mould too much or if u aint keeping it then it dont matter, however ive seen a panel warp outwards wt a highspot when a guy reeefed one off cus he was blind drunk, idiot lol...If u dont wana paint the area under moulds then ull have to slowly rub n peel off leftover tape/glue by hand still using heat+presol thinners goin along(is only way for you-i can cheat wt a New Hand razor but took me 5 years b4 i didnt get a single sctrach) then buff n polish areas n hope u aint one of the 80% that has rust/paint bleed thru or other causes that'l show spots wt no paint cover, if so mask up from the little channel above where belt mould was down to next channel n (if ur good enuf) re-paint that little 3cm gully...

{{Alt Option=mask ur belt moulds/outer door handles and paint same color as ur car(if will look ok-iff not paint a two tone then), + maybe pull ur grill out at same time n do that same as moulds+mask out ur bumper bar middle section(like the VY HSV frnt+rear bars wt silver inserts-lower bar water drain channel)n paint that area diff color to one on ur moulds n grill (ie black-dark grey) done heaps of Commys n others wt every single one making alot of diff to the whole visual of the car, crew will look twice n think Hey he's hada fullon custom paint job n got mad custom grill nstuff, lol-(i'd look twice then say nice trik mate, good for a stocky) prob can occur when u dont match rest of car wtout ur belt moulds in place-ie if u got black/stock Bbars, k mate.lol cant beleive i posted this much crap bout belt moulds, fken no lol, woot...
