Unfortunately I have some bad news. Last week I had been broken into our home while we were asleep. The thieves knew exactly what they wanted, they grabbed my work laptop which was downstairs on the dining table, the keys to the car and yes to my disappointment the car as well.
So at the moment I don't have wheels, it has been a week now and no news of the car abandoned anywhere.
I don't think it will show up anytime soon.
Anyway just wanted to let you guys know.
Harry.

Damn that's not good Harry !!! Hopefully your insurance will settle the claim quickly and painlessly for you mate and get you into a new car soon.
On the positive side though, lucky they just took your laptop and car as these can be replaced. It could have been a lot worse considering they were inside your house with you guys asleep. Who knows what could have happened !
Main thing is you guys are safe and well.

Really bad news, Hazzat.
I sometimes wish we lived in the old wildwest where they used to just go and hang horse thieves. Car thieves (any thieves) are a truly low form of life and just real losers. Imagine being such a failure that you have to take someone else's stuff. That's why I had a tracking device installed in my car. If someone scumbag steals my car, then I want the piece of animated manure caught. A year or so ago a girl had her Porsche carjacked in the city and it was fitted with a tracker. Cops caught the thieves in 30 minutes. Shut the engine of the Porsche down when the were ready and jumped the little turds, whom I believe are now guests of the Governor.
As you can tell, cartheft gets me rather cranky.

Thanks guys, I guess I am thankfull as it could've been worse as Red mentions. Good thing they only took things that are replaceable and as for the car, it is insured so I just have to wait a bit and then hopefully have a new one.
Tiger I totaly agree and with todays technology it should be a government or insurance subsidy to have all cars installed with a trcking devise. It would do wonders for the insurance companys and would hopefully deter thieves. Unfortunately wont help vandals, but at least it would be a step forward.

Just having a read through older posts, I too wonder what's happening lately, Harry.
I truly hope that by now it's all been dealt with in your favour.
These idiots are the proverbial 'skidmarks' of life. The most useless in all humanity.
We've had a fair bit of 'key-ing' going on around the northern areas over here (in the 'backwater') lately, as well as idiots using silicone to vandalise car doorlocks.
I get very narky when I hear of this stuff happening.
But I am so very glad you and your family were okay.

What would posses someone to pump silicone into someones door locks. I know where they should pump the silicone if they ever find the half wits doing this and it's not into their door locks!!

I agree, Munky.
Like those grafitti losers.
If caught, they should be stripped and sprayed all over with their own paint so they can appreciate how funny it is. And contemplate the wisdom of their actiions while trying to remove the paint.
Sorry guys. I am a patient man but I don't suffer fools gladly. I am also a compassionate person, but there will be a lot of people lined up against the wall when I am king!!

Personally I cannot understand the mentality of a person who goes around making private as well as public property look disgusting with 'tags' and vandalism. Not to mention the monetary value that has to be associated with these actions.
I know I'm not alone in appreciating the look of 'nice' things, not dirty, vandalised buildings, etc.
Maybe these kids don't realise that the general public don't notice or care that it's a certain 'tag'. The police do though.
All we see is a complete mess.
What does it prove, except that they are brain dead morons?
Maybe it's an age thing, but I will never be able to 'get with' this kind of behaviour.
My rant for this Friday.

Agree 100%. Our house has a bush reserve behind us and a while back I had some little turd spray graffiti on the back on my colour bond fence.
My wife was home at the time and heard the rattle of the ball bearing inside the can and looked over the fence to see this teenager spraying away. When he saw her he dropped the can in done a runner.
He is the luckiest guy in the world because if I was home the guy would have wished he wasn't born.
I hate vandals with a passion and could tell a few more stories, no doubt we all could.
Anyway, my rant for today. LOL....
