Hi Guys,

I am in the process of planning to save for a sound system to stick in the VY...

Does anybody know if it is possible to get a double-din 7" LCD head deck that can be connected to the audio controls on the steering wheel... would really like to get them working as hate having useless equip in my car.

I am thinking of going Kenwood for the rest of the audio equipment, had kenwood in the camry and was really impressed with the quality.

Current thoughts are:
- 6" 3Ways with Tweeters in the front,
- 6' 2Ways rear doors
- 6"x9"s on the parcel shelf
- 12" Sub in boot
- 600W Amp in front,
- 1000W Amp in back

honestly dude, im in the process of saving up for my stereo if you get some good splits for the front and some good splits for the back doors and they are amped that will be plenty of vocal and saves u a bit of extra cash, with you having a vy take the speakers out of the parcel shelf and leave the grills in so the bass can come thro the boot into the cabin and it still all looks tidy. i priced up my whole kicker system with 2 x 12"s, splits in the front and splits in the rear doors all amped to run at the max and it came in just under 2k, kenwood is an ok brand im just a fan of kicker love their quality. also have a look at JVC they have their new lint DRVN which looks like great value

hi
yes it is possible to get a 7" double din head deck to work with steering controls
i have just put in a JVC 2 din dvd reciver wiith monitor with sat nav

(KW-AVX836 sat nav ) also i installed 6.5" speakers with splitters in the front

you will need to buy a steering wheel interface converter / modular thingy to make them work ( yes i know i cant think of the proper name of the thingy) about $100 for it
