Pleeeeease. I'm such a techno bimbo. I bought a new phone, but don't know how to answer it via the car. When my old phone rang, I just hit the phone button in the car and it answered. This one doesn't do that. It's got voice activated dialling too, and I don't know how to make that work either. Can anyone help ? I'd be eternally grateful :D

Life was so much simpler before this technological shit.

At least in your car you were assured of some solitude. And the idea of holidays was to get away from everything, not be on constant call.

Pretty soon our cars will come with a software package to run the things to our specifications and some bastard will be able to hack into it and steal it or make it crash or something. And we won't be able to work on them ourselves any more. All the fun and challenge will be gone.

Damn those electrons!!!

Barb or Andy might be able to help you out here, Glenys.
I think they have a similar set up in the VE.

Glenys I know every phone is different but they all should work the same way to answer a call in the VE's.

Does your phone automatically connect itself to the bluetooth in your car when you first start your car ??

With mine (Nokia N95), it connects to the bluetooth straight away when the car is started and answering any incoming call is as simple as hitting the phone button on the steering wheel.

I just pared my crackberry to my VE, but found even though the crackberry listed the car "BT device" etc on the phone, it wasn't working. Had to go back into the phone Blue Tooth settings, then select the car connection and tell the phone it was a "trusted connection". Now it connects strait up after starting the car everytime.

I think it's a security process in some phones to stop people from linking to your phone without you knowing. Hope that helps.

Whats type phone do you have Glenys?

Totally agreed Tiger. Gone are the days when you took your car to a mechanic to be serviced. Now it's all done by computer. Gone are the days when someone (gasp) phoned your house and left a message, and you returned it when you got home!
Matt, it connects now. Greg (I think) showed me how to get the car to recognise the phone. I can't find anything like that on my phone Greg. It's a Sony Ericcson Z750i or something. It's purple, that's all I know. :)
