welcome mate,

Is your VT already a LS1? If it's not you would be best off trying to find a complete smashed up vehicle so you can pull out the engine harness, computer, mounts, ect.

You should have a chat with another forum member who goes by the name of Naybour,
He's got a VY V6 with a Vortech blower & a 4.2 ltr stroker, it made 350 rwhp @ powercruise & look to be pretty drivable. But if I was to have a say, I would be going for a nice bent 8 without a second thought....... but that's just me.

Alot of the Gen3's are pretty good on fuel from what I've heard (Except for Daz, when towing my car home!!!) but if you stand on it, it will drink like a fish.

Very true, the Ecotec and L67 (supercharged V6) have huge amounts of potential. Its just a matter of how far you wanna push them. On the L67 a nice pulley upgrade does the trick along with a better intercooler, and a nice cam wouldnt go astray either along with a better exhuast system. In the last (i think) SC mag there was a twin turbo Ecotec pushing out well over 500rwhp. LS1 would be a great choice, but for the price to buy a full wrecker to do the conversion, you could have spent that money on the current engine and be making a decent amount of power that can be used on and off the track.

yeah i've seen those 4.2L kits and i'm leanin towards the charger, but does anyone know how much u can run through the standard ecotec, boost wise, before you need to pull it down and reinforce it a bit lol... twin turbo kits are pretty damn expensive, lookin at least 8-10 grand for a decent one... thinkin of goin a raptor kit. 4-5 grand with the pro street intercooled kit and ur supposedly lookin (depending on the cond of the engine and mods already applied obviously) at about 280 - 300kw (about 210kw at the wheels)...
