Nice looking car. I like the look of the VE, it looks more aggressive than my VT. How is that active suspension in real life? I kind of like the feel of the rear twitching as the LSD scrabbles for traction under power but it is a bit nervous at high cornering speed. It hangs on pretty well despite the nervousness, though. Does the VE suspension improve things?

As an aside, I took a photo of my car about a year ago in almost the same spot. There were messages all over the walls then and heaps of flowers. I thought it a good time to take my son to see the Mountain.

Yes there were heaps of messages but they painted over everything. When we were there a few weeks ago nearly everyone we saw was writing something on the walls. No doubt they will paint over it again before the big race in a couple of weeks.
Regarding your son and trip to the mountain, you are more than welcome to join us on our next club cruise if you're interested.
Our next cruise is on 4th November to the Illawarra Highway Patrol Car Show at the Kemba Grange Racecourse.
Cheers....

WHOOT! A manual. Great choice there, Andy.
I like the 'redhot' colour too, but I'm rather partial to the darker coloured cars. Pigs to keep clean , but they look mean.
A mate, over here in SA, has a VE in the 'Morpheus'. He's had the track stripes painted over the car too, but has done them in white which, I think, doesn't suit at all. Would have looked better in the black.
But .... he's happy with it, so that's the main thing.

Nah! Jason. :)
Not a huge fan of stripes or flames or anything like that, except of course on an old '57 chevvy hotrod. I guess it's a personal choice thing.
I like my Commodores dark and shiny!!

Yeh there's something about black cars, they just look a million bucks when they are clean. I'm on my 3rd black Commodore now.

I've always owned different shades of red, not by conscious choice. It just happened that way.
The Commodore I own now is the first dark car I've owned and yes, although hard to keep clean, they look tough.
It's especially frustrating when you spend 2.5 hours washing it at 7am on a Saturday morning only to have some bomb park next to you 3 hours later with a blown radiator, which then sprays all over your hard work!!! Oh, did I forget to mention that there were many other empty parks around, but he HAD to park it next to me!!
GRRRR!

As I bought my car new, I could choose the colour. I chose Tiger Mica cos I only had a choice of 4 colours in the SS. But I like it because it changes colour in the sun depending on the angle you view it from. It also shines through the dirt and will probably camouflage the rust if it appears. It also is not common. By coincidence, we also bought a Vectra for my wife in the same colour. But it's a colour you either love or hate. It certainly stands out and it is easy to spot in the car parks.

Let's just say that the fellas attitude angered me more than the state my car was in!!
I give as good as I get!! LOL
It was a Toyota bomb, I think. So old, it was hard to tell through the rust!!
But another 45 minutes later she was back, all shiny and clean!
As 'Fitzy' says "happiness is a clean car!!!"
