On the trip down to Bathurst I saw a driving simulator in the museum (red ice will remember being the throttle for the kid that couldn't reach the pedals). It made me wonder what was available out there. I did a quick search and found a whole community that has dedicated their time to replicating the great race by means of modding an F1 racing sim. The main link into this world is http://www.v8gaming.com/ I'm not sure how this would compare to the commercially available console games that are available. Has anyone played around with this type of thing before as I'm curious to maybe get one going for a bit of a challenge?

I just tried that link that you gave me and it's for a risk management website.

No wonder you were showing the little fella how to work the one in Bathurst. I'm really glad you know about it. Any chance of a few laps on it at the bbq? For research purposes of course!
