Show Car Sunday - Fairfield Showgrounds - 16th November 2008

Show Programme
On 16 November 2008 Fairfield Showgrounds in Sydney’s south-west will ignite with the sights and sounds of the inaugural Showcar Sunday; an alcohol-free event for the entire family. Over 400 fully customised cars will be on display - including awesome four-cylinders, rotaries, V8s, muscle cars, choppers and custom bikes. They will contest in the DBA Showstoppa Challenge, with categories including Best Old School, Best High Tech, Best Muscle, Best Overall plus much more.

There will be lots of non-stop entertainment throughout the day, with local talent as well as international artists Third Strike pumping their brand new track "2am" live on centre stage. Watch Sydney's best dance crews battle it out and be judged by Channel 10’s very own So You Think You Can Dance choreographer Nacho Pop and dance contestant Rhiannon, as well as Australian boxing champ Anthony Mundine. There will be autograph and photo sessions throughout the day, as well as a few inspirational words from “The Man,” whose Boxa range of clothing and accessories will be available to buy.

Direct from the USA, DJ Jam will be the exclusive and official disc jockey for Showcar Sunday. Watch Snoop Dogg’s very own tour turntablist live on centre stage as he rocks the party. DJ Jam will play some of his ol’ school grooves as well as launch his new CD mix.

Showcar Sunday will be a totally interactive experience as professionals from all over the modified car industry conduct informative workshops on topics such as piston versus rotary engines; driver training; automotive paints and airbrushing; turbochargers; airbag and hydraulic suspension; professional detailing; brake rotors and pad combinations; street versus track set-ups; and more. Watch, listen and learn from the best as Motivation Australia’s Ian Luff conducts professional driver training, where punters can challenge a friend and test their skills on the track.

Gorgeous girls will strut their stuff in the modelling competition, kids can enjoy the rides, trade exhibitors will showcase their products to the public and there will be a variety of food stalls.

Showcar Sunday will support an Aussie icon as money raised will go towards the Peter Brock Foundation, with some of Brocky’s legendary Holdens on display at the show. Showcar Sunday is an event not to be missed!

Proceed to the online entry form now as places will be filled very shortly.

Looking forward to seeing you at the show.

Cheers.

Well, you can enter yours, and we'll all cheer you on. We could always go just for a look.

Hmm, do all new panels and a paint job count as modifications?

I only put it up as something for people to go along and check out not put their cars in Paul. It seems like it might be good to go check out some modified cars an bikes, it also says there is a modelling comp for the ladies there Paul. They'll need cheering on you know!! Not quite modified enough there chequers. MONIES RAISED GO TO THE PETER BROCK FOUNDATION, thats reason enough to go for me!

I think i might just pull my head in at not bother to comment, because everytime i do Chequers rips my head off with a sarcastic comment, remember Chequers words in a thread cannot show emotion,so if you are not trying to be smart use your words carefully!!!!!!!!!!!!

Wow, I agree about words not being able to show emotion, but I didn't think it counted as ripping your head off, to encourage you to enter your car, and cheer for it. Sorry.

I think she meant that if you did enter your car Paul we would come along and support you. As you said not many of our club cars are modified so the limited entries would want our support I would've thought. Like me down the coast, chequers was going to come along for a look and give some encouragement. I dont think she meant it to sound like she was ripping your head off. If I have enough money I'll come up Paul and we can go check out the models? I mean cars.

Thanks Shaun, and again, sorry if the post read the wrong way Paul. I literally did mean that if you entered your car, we'd come and cheer it on. We all need a cheer squad occasionally, even if our cars are number 1 in our eyes. :)
Also Shaun, sorry again for not being able to make the south coast show. You show us so much support. Would have been nice to return the favour at least once!

Phew. Not sure if you've noticed though Paul, if I'm being sarcastic (who me? Never!) I usually put a little aside at the end, something like.... now where's that sarcastic faced smiley.
So, are you gonna enter your car, and let us be your cheer squad or not? It might make up for me not being there for Shaun. I feel so bad about that. :(

Oooooh, did you think I meant your car having new panels and paint? Nah, I meant mine!

Kind of like my 2nd Sigma. It ended up being a GH, GJ, GK, Mazda 626 Sigma. Poor little thing hardly had any original panels left, and it was RED. Is someone trying to tell me something?

I thought GREEN cars were supposed to be unlucky.

You have certainly busted that myth, Chequers.

Actually Tiger, I think it's just any car owned by me. :) My green car had a few accidents, my blue one had a few, my white one had one, but by far, the best income generators for my smash repairer have been the red beasts.

Thanks Wazza. It was a misunderstanding. Nobody will be egging anyone's car. :)
