I'll be talking more with him about it so please watch this space for more details on Friday Night Cruises around Canberra!

What are the cops like in Canberra? it's just that I have been on a few Friday night cruise in Sydney and it hard cause cops like to target it.

The guys here meet at 8 p.m. at a car wash in a suburb called Belconnen, it's other side of town to me but only takes 20 mins to get there, they do a car clean and have a bit of chat then go for a cruise in and around the city. I'm going along this Friday to check it out. I'll let you all know how it goes.

The guys aren't cruising this Friday because they are having a birthday party for one of there mates. Unfortunately next Friday I'll be heading down for the south coast nationals but alot of them are coming down also so we'll most likely be cruising together. I'm also meeting up with a couple of guys from Wagga who are heading to Moruya so it'll be a good time to inform them all of the club.

Any news on a cruise? Im keen. I work every 2nd friday till 10pm but the others Im not im keen. Infact Im going for a cruise on my lonesome now coz Im bored and its friday and Im giving up smokes so I wont get on the sauce till ive gotten over it a bit more. ha ha. Ill check out car lovers in Belco at around 8 to see if anyone is there. I guess thats where they do their wash.

Did a bit today and raced (not that I do often and nor is it my reason for cruising) a liberty that just out did me around parliment house. He had the inside lane and was running 7psi. Still, didnt feel that cool.. lol.
The ACT chapter of just commodores are organising (loosley) a run to the charity cruise in syd in july. Coupled with street commodores crew they have around 30 going up together. It will be a time and place thing. So far they are saying 530am at the shell EPIC to leave by 6 latest. I reckon it will be an earlier depart time to get to homebush by 9. Its open for any commodore who wants to join in for the drive up. Ill keep all posted about arrangements for anyone whos keen to join in. Hard to believe that we have 3 commodore clubs (that I know of) in Canberra. It will be cool to have all of them together for a run to and around syd for the day.

Im in and Ill bring my camera. Ive got this special lens called a "commodore lens" that no matter what I take a pic of this lens will make it look AWESOME!!! ha ha ha.
Ill bring my two UHF radios too. Ill be a paid member soon I promise. I keep spending all my cash on my car and booze. ha ha.. Ill cut out the booze for a bit coz Im busting at the seems to do the few other things to my ride (including membership sticker).
If its a clear night we should cruise from cloud to cloud. i mean to say from mt Ainslie to Red hill. I could maybe get some cool pics of the rides with Berra lights in the background. Might be interesting for those not From Canberra on these forums and its a fantastic view at night. Not to mention the parade of V8's through redhill at night stirring the yuppies!! ha ha ha

Hi All. Well myself, Ian, Ben, Ben's mate Pete, And a couple of chefs I used to work with went out for a cruise around town. The wind was up and it was pretty cold but we still had some fun. Charlie is looking at becoming a member so that'll be another Canberra member. We also met Chris-Anothervxon20s. He has a very nice ride and is a really good bloke, Great to meet you Chris. I also spoke to a guy in a very tidy VS ute and we met a few other people while we were out. I think we might shift to warmer weather for our next cruise so it'll be a Sunday. Somewhere for a feed a good talk. I forgot my camera but Ian brought his along with his now famous commodore lens. It wasn't picking things up at night Ian said. It was however picking up the inside of the lens cover ok. It was a very funny moment because when he realised and took it off the batteries died. We went and got some more and got a few shots and I think Ian will post them but it was cold and we all went home after deciding a day shoot would be better. Oh and anyone who hasn't yet got a club commodore jacket, Highly recommended. It worked a treat in the wind last night.

Ha ha ha I accidentally put on my Ford lens and not the commodore one. OOPS!! The ford lens drains the batteries and takes "blackout" style photos.
So anyhoo's I used a regular lens at night and got these.......

Ive got a mate keen to come on our next cruise. He has a black VE R8 that needs 2 rear tyres and rego then he's on the road again. I just msgd a direct order (lol) to another mate with a 04 statesman (charged 6) to join the club too, and he will. Hes a bit short on cash at the moment so cruisin is out. He will ride with me I guess till his employment situation changes. Once these guys and another of our members (who shall remain nameless) Get their cars on the road, we are going to have a massive road presence.
Oh yeah, And Shaun, Im thinking we should plan out a couple of routes or circuts we can cruise for a good hour or so straight. Staying in warm cars .lol Then we could get an idea of how to plan out some sort of massive sight see of canberra and its surounds and have the interstate members come down for a weekend cruise and, er, sight see. lol.

Well it was a good night out. A little cold but nothing unexpected here in Canberra. No rain so thats a bonus. There were 7 cars and 10 people so it was a good showing for such short notice. Steve it was great to meet you and Daniel. Nice ride you have and your enthusiasm is awesome. Next 1 will be a Sunday for sure. A nice country cruise for lunch. Here are a few pics I took. I was just thinking maybe a quick update on the rough plan of the "friday night cruise" for the new guys on the forums.
We Meet at Erindale carwash at about 730pm on random fridays suggested on this thread when ever anyone is keen. Its more about meeting and catching up with eachother and updating eachother on the progress (or lack of) their rides. We then pick a destination and head off to look for places to get some photos of all the cars together. This summer should be awesome for it. We usually cruise to a couple of different locals over a couple of hours and talk rubbish at most of them for a good while, meet other car people and check out their rides. (when others are about that is lol).
Its not beyond us to have non Commodores and non Holdens run with us as its more about cars and mates. But Non Holdens ride back of pack where they belong lolz.
Road rules are obeyed and driving conditions respected. If your keen to hoon, our cruises arent the place for it. We have big club stickers on the cars and so our driving reflects on the entire club. Thats not to say we dont have fun but.
Non members should feel free to post suggestions or get people keen for a cruise when nothing is on.
P.S. A Cb radio is helpfull, Hand held is all you need. Chanel given out on the night.

"He who doesn't make good with the food!!!" hmm very interesting. He can drive at 1/2 a k an hour at right angles over each corrigation in the road so as to not scrape the 'Clubby' kit, but he cant bring the food.. ha ha ha ha ha.
Another freezing berra night but a great little cruise. We saw an off the hook Capri, a roaming pack of gemini's, a few extra rice burners than the usual and a twin turbo, awd, suit driven Porsche smoke it up as he belted away from the food van.
Great to meet Frank(didnt listen to your stereo. next time) and his mate Neil? (Sorry I suck with names) and Eddie (again I suck with names but hes not on the forums yet so Im in the clear so far) who Beno sucked in through work. Nice rides and nice guys. Looking forward to catching up with yaz again. Good to catch up with Steve again. Dude that car will be F***'n unreal when you're finnished. The first Force fed Commy in the Canberra chapter. Jamie had his 'Friday night cruise' cherry popped and got to test his new brakes. lolz. They worked at the right time and thats what matters. I found the slipperyest spot in Dickson but thanks to some lightening heel toe work (and a little traction contrl) I saved the day. Ben had some sort of clutch excuse for everything. 1st it was worn and slipping, now its new and needs adjustment. Whatever! Just get an auto if ya cant handle it! And Pete was just an angel all night but had to go to bed for work or work for bed or something. And Shauns body kit looks awesome but its a sideways mission over speed humps. Its like the little engine that could as he edges over the peek. "I think I can I think I can" and then ever so gently down the other side. Ha Ha.
It was another cool night out in some cool cars with some pretty ordinary people. Two outa three aint bad.

Ha ha nah its got like a stuck point. not stuck but sticks like its not gunna pull through. and only randomly. The closest to a patern so far is hard long right hand turns like roundabouts. Its only happened 3 times but it cant be good.

Yeah Im back on aswell. I only got a week. Even better is Im in touch with the ACT rep and he's keen to let me advertise CCA ACT friday night cruises. They always have someone asking if anyone cruises regularly and noone replies and the JC admins apparently dont do anything for the ACT members. We cruise fridays and so he said no worries, If the big admins pull it down he'll put it back and let the other admins know its the only thing that gets done for ACT..
Loke IO said they get at least onme new guy a week in the ACT section looking to cruise. Alot of family types too not young hoons.

Im getting a fair bit of feedback and interest from the Just Commodores post so Time to put up some details for this Friday.......

Errindale carwash 7/730PM leave by 8pm sharp to meet northsiders at Car lovers in Belconnen at 820pm. Meet n greet then head of to Civic and Braddon by 840, park at back of Braddon and check out whats going on and eachothers rides n stuff, talk rubbish and plan some photo ops and places. Im thinking first friday night daylight savings, sun goes down behind cars on mt Ainlsie shots?(prob too late by then) Head off and take pics and Well keep on with that plan till weve had enough.
Bring uhf radio, full tank of fuel (wont use it all just saves detours although we will stop near servos for refreshmenst etc), jumper, camera, photos and whatever you think you might want to use or show off.
DONT FORGET!! Respect for the road rules and conditions is a must!! If anyone stuffs around and brings unwanted attention they will be left behined! We have Club stickers and so the clubs reputation with us on these cruises not to mention the reputation of modified cars. So BE BEHAVED!!

Hell yeah great turn out!!! I think I counted 12 commodores in total (would have been 14 but 2 got scared off by the sheer awesomeness & power of the other cars in attendence that would be able to smoke them out & their sad single leggers :lol: )

Deffently a cool drive up both moutains (could even be classed as a small warm up & test session for myself & the car as it's hitting the hill climb circuit next weekend yay!!)
